One-On-One with Recording Artist Robert Eberle

by Cyrus Webb

During 2020 I discovered recording artists Robert Eberle, Don Da Menace and Ethan from Versa the Band. They had come together to bring to life the single ENOUGH.

It tackles the times we are living in, not just with the pandemic but what we see when it comes to racial profiling and the shooting of unarmed people of color.

In this One-On-One I talked with Robert about his journey and the music.

Robert,  thanks for the time, and congratulations on the single ENOUGH. Who would you say are some of your musical influences?

Thanks for the opportunity, Cyrus. My musical influences are definitely Ruel & Finneas.

Have you always known that you were interested in creating music?

Yes I started singing when I was two years old. My grandparents got me my first acoustic guitar, and everything kinda played out from there!

What inspired you to be apart of Enough?

What really inspired me to write this song was anger to be honest. I saw everything that had been going on with the Black Lives Matter movement, and it really opened my eyes. I wrote this song and then brought it to my two friends, Ethan & Don. They helped finalize everything, and I think we made a pretty cool song.

With everything going on do you think music is an outlet for you?

Definitely. Music has been an outlet for me my whole life.

How has social media helped you reach people all around the world?

Social media has definitely influenced my career, especially with the app, TikTok. I am able to share my music on there, and it has a chance to reach people all around the world!

Speaking of music, who are you currently listening to?

On my playlist right now I have Ruel, Finneas, Rex Orange County & Bazzi.

What’s some advice to give to people just starting out with music?

Some advice I would give is to just go for it. You never know what’s gonna happen! Don’t give up, and always believe in yourself.

[MUSIC REVIEW] OVER AND OVER is that song that reminds us of how much God loves us

I found out about Riley Clemmons' single OVER AND OVER through an ad on Instagram. I instantly headed here to get it for myself. It is now one of those songs I have on repeat.

The message is so powerful. We all know what it's like to disappoint someone we love. That is true with God and our relationship with him. No matter how many times we mess us, though, if we come back to him with sincerity He continues to welcome us back. As Riley single He show us how to love and that we are loved.

This song is needed right now. Every time the sun rises we get another reminder of how much He loves us. And He chooses us, which makes having a relationship with Him even that much more special.

A message that reminds you of how much God loves each one of us, this song encourages me to keep seeking His face and doing His will.

[MUSIC REVIEW] Leave it to Natasha Bedingfield to give us a much-needed reminder like TOGETHER IN THIS. Love it!

Natasha Bedingfield is one of those inspiring recording artists that I can't get enough of. When I saw on Facebook she had a new single out I knew it was something I had to add to my playlist.

Love the message of TOGETHER IN THIS. It is all about us realizing that we're brothers and sisters and together in this thing called life. When you feel weak we will be there for each other. No need to feel lonely, even in the darkness we will be there for each other.

If that is not the way you feel look at your circle. We should be there lifting each other up, not tearing each other down.

TOGETHER IN THIS is a reminder that this is what the human race should be about: working together to make each day better than the last.

[MUSIC REVIEW] Caleb Lovely's WITH HIM TONIGHT is that song that makes you question the choices you make

I went into this song not knowing really what to expect, but I love the story that Caleb Lovely tells. WITH HIM TONIGHT is directed to that girl who is with someone who doesn't really appreciate her. What Caleb sings about is letting her know she deserves better and poses the question why she is with someone who doesn't recognize what she has to offer.

Love the beat and the story. Easy to sing along with and definitely sticks with you. WITH HIM TONIGHT is that song that makes you question the choices you make in relationships and life.

Dre the Giant: Using Music to Talk the Talk While Walking the Walk

by Cyrus Webb

For some music is just a way to escape, a form of entertainment. For recording artists like Dre the Giant it is a way to tell his story, share his truth and allow people to get to know him and the way he sees the world.

I connected with Dre through Conversations' contributing music editor Stanley Clark, and it was obvious from the beginning that he was someone who was real and true to the craft. In a Conversations exclusive we talk about the musical journey, life's lessons and the advice he's like to share with others.

Glad we have this time to chat, Dre. First of all when did you first realize your own love of music?I've always had a passion for music. I actually started doing music early on. I was writing it, but I wasn't putting it out or anything. And I was doing it, because my older brother was doing it. And it was one of those things where when he found out I was good at it, he tried to push me towards it... and I strayed away from it. It wasn't until recent years that I started taking it more serious. I was just trying to find a way to get out of trouble and out the streets. The music has always presented itself towards me in my life.

One day while I was actually in jail I just said to myself, 'Man, if I get out of this situation, I'm just going to do this music thing.' And that's what I've been doing ever since that happened.

That's amazing. So when it comes to musical influences then, Dre, who were some of the people who kind of influenced you and made you say, 'Hey, you know? I want to be able to do them?'
My older brother was one of the bigger ones. Growing up Tupac was hands down. He still paint one of the better pictures of today. I still listen to his music as if it just came out. I didn't start listening to Nipsey Hustle until his demise. Long live him. I now listen to the Victory Lap album every day. So he is a big motivation currently for me.

For a long time it was hard for me to share my music. I wasn't afraid of the critique. I just kept it to myself, but I realized you have to put it out in order for it to be critiqued.

Other influences include Juvenile, UGK, The Dayton Family and more. I think anything and everything that I listened to is a big part of my inspiration. Even listening to Chris Stapleton and Tennessee Whiskey almost everyday. I don't just listen to Rap and R&B. I switch up. Classics like Michael Jackson and Prince. They definitely play a big part into who I am as an artist.

You mentioned Tupac and Nipsey. The thing I appreciate about both of them is their ability to be able to tell stories through music. Is that storytelling ability something that you also liked about them and wanted to do?
Oh yeah, definitely. For someone to tell a story and capture me and I actually feel like I'm there is amazing. Those are two artists that definitely do it every time. To be honest, Juvenile does it pretty well, too. It definitely made me want to be able to tell my story because of how they painted their stories. They could talk about things that were actually going on in the world, not just their personal life. It made me want to be more of that kind of artist.

That brings up this question then, Dre: If you were just meeting someone and they asked you what kind of music do you do? How do you describe your musical style and what you do?
I actually have been asked that. I say I make my life's music, and my life is pretty dope. I don't mean that I have everything, because I don't. But it's my life, so every day is an opportunity. And my style, it just comes from my experiences, everything that I have personally went through and from everything that I have sat down and heard. The eyes are the windows to the soul, so everything that I have seen is part of it.

Nowadays a lot of artists have one or two styles. On my latest album it's 11 songs on it, and each song sounds nothing like the other ten. So I don't have a specific style. I honestly let the beat tell me what to bring to it.

I mentioned that you and I met through a mutual friend, Stanley Clark. I think that brings up an interesting point in this conversation. I am a firm believer that the people that we are surrounding ourselves with will either push us forward or keep us back. How important has it been for you to be able to surround yourself with people who believe in you and push you?
Oh man, that's a great question. Sometimes when things don't go your way, you feel like the people that's really in your corner are not in your corner. I can honestly say that the few people that I have behind me right now are a hundred percent behind me. It was times when I felt that they weren't, but it was just because I thought things weren't going my way. I had to go back and think about it and had to reassess that whole situation.

Last question I have for you. What advice would you give to people out there about following their own goals and dreams?
I got a friend that literally lives down the street from me, and I will give him a lot more credit for talent than I have. But I tell him every day you have to write something. You just have to do it. The first thing you might write you might not use it. You might never use it. You might discard it. But if you don't start it, if you don't take that step forward, you will never make that progress.

The first thing I wrote, I might've used it. I might not. I honestly don't remember. But I know from the point that I started writing, I would get all these ideas. I actually had to write myself towards the ideas. You can't sit there and think about it. The best thought in the world only becomes the best if you put action behind it. You gotta take this step forward.

Recording Artist Trynket: Painting a 'Picture' for her Fans with her Music

by Cyrus Webb

You never know where you are going to find something amazing.

I saw an Instagram ad for recording artist Trynket's* single PICTURE (In My Brain) and was immediately mesmerized by it. I then went over to Amazon to get it for myself, and since then I have been a fan.

What is so great about Trynket is that she gives her all in the music and it shows, from the single itself to the visual that accompanied it. At the time that we are going to print the video on Youtube has over 130k views.

In early 2020 while in Los Angeles I had the privilege to meet up with Trynket in person to discuss her musical journey and the success of the single PICTURE (In My Brain).

"It's shocking," Trynket said to me when discussing the success of the single. "I did not expect that many people would be drawn to the song. It's really, really cool how positive everyone's been. It's really surprising."

Trynket told me that music has been a part of her life since she was a kid. "I started taking piano lessons when I was five, and then I started writing my own songs. I grew up singing in church, and then in college I started to play with different bands. It's been a long journey, and I've learned a lot...but I'm so happy that I get to do my own thing right now."

She says a big part of what she is doing now is centered on storytelling. "When I was a kid I was writing my own stories, and then I discovered filmmaking when I was in college kind of by accident, I took an elective and from then on film has been a huge part of my life."

Though her talent is obvious to so many, Trynket says it's crazy to think about the support her music is getting. "I just never thought my music would reach like over 70 countries according to Spotify, but I'm just grateful," she explained. "I'm glad that it's resonating with people. There's so many artists and so much music out there. It's just cool that people are gravitating to my stuff."

And even if she wasn't getting the tremendous response that wouldn't stop Trynket. "I'm just so obsessed with creating," she expressed to me. "There were times definitely when fear kicked in," she explained. But that is when the self-talk took over. "During those times I remind myself I love this. I have to keep going. If I don't keep doing it, then I just feel like my soul dies. Just knowing that overrides the fear every time."

Though her plans have been adjusted due to the pandemic, look for more exciting updates from Trynket soon. She can be found on Instagram at www.instagram.com/trynketmusic

James "Mississippi" Marshall: 'Country Raised' and Proud Of It

by Cyrus Webb

Three years ago I was introduced to the artist James "Mississippi" Marshall with his single COUNTRY RAISED. In fact that year---2017--- there were many individuals who made their mark, introducing themselves through their talent and letting the world know they had something to say. James "Mississippi" Marshall was definitely one of those people.

I connected with him initially through Facebook, and when he told me about COUNTRY RAISED I was excited to hear what he brought to the table musically. Believe me when I say the single didn't disappoint. Marshall and I are both from the state of Mississippi, and the single is all about embracing where you are from, what made you who you are and more importantly how it helps us in making our mark in the world. Being 'country raised' is not something to be ashamed of. He feels as I do: it's something to be celebrated.

In his first-ever interview I was able to talk with Marshall about the release of his single and the response from listeners. "It's been a great experience," he told me during his appearance on Conversations LIVE the radio show. "I was just happy to get the music out. Now that it's available I'm hoping that it touches a lot of people."

Marshall says he knew that COUNTRY RAISED would "represent where I'm from" and that it would be the perfect single to introduce him. "A lot of artists sound so much alike that you don't know where they're from. I wanted to make sure people knew when they heard me who I was and that I was from Mississippi."

For some it would be a surprise that James was venturing into music. As someone who has been around the industry it wasn't until 2017 that many knew he was an artist himself. "I just felt like there aren't that many Mississippi artists being recognized right now," he told me. "We do have good artists, and I want to make sure that people around the world remember that."

For Marshall the other thing about being raised in Mississippi is that it keeps you humble. That is an attitude he has taken with him even as he has moved outside the state. It is also something that speaks to the bigger message and mission of COUNTRY RAISED. People all over the world can hear the song and celebrate where they are from and what makes them who they are. One thing that has helped him reach the masses has been having his music on all the major online retailers and having an active presence on social media.

"The internet is helping a lot," he told me. "Once people hear the song they are surprised," he says mainly because they might not expect something like that from Mississippi. That suits Marshall just fine. "I want them to remember the music that is still coming from Mississippi," he says.

It is his hope that people will listen to his music and realize not just his talent but that they can have a goal or dream and do the work necessary to make it a reality, no matter where they're from.

After COUNTRY RAISED he released other singles like WATCH ME DO MY DANCE, SHOW ME REAL and in 2020 he has given us GRIMEY.

Cassandra Lucas: Encouraging the World to 'Give Love A Chance' Through Music

by Cyrus Webb

Many have gotten to know recording artist Cassandra Lucas from the group Changing Faces, but in my recent conversation with her it was obvious that her love for music began way before that.

She has gone from standing on her family's old-fashioned record player (the kind my family had sitting in the living room that looked like a piece of furniture) with hairbrush singing alongside her father to thrilling music lovers around the world.

"It's overwhelmingly humbling," Cassandra said about the experience of sharing her music with the world, especially with the technology at our disposal. "I can get to know them (the fans), and they can get to know me and hear my music. You can't ask for anything more than that. I'm just blessed."

Cassandra got her love of music honestly, her father was in a group when she was growing up. "I used to watch Soul Train with my dad," she says. "He brought music into my life." She loved it as a kid and when she went to High School her passion for it was solidified. Being around other creative individuals was a source of inspiration. "Everyone there was so driven," she told me.

In 2017 Cassandra shared two new singles with her fans: I LOVE YOU and GIVE LOVE A CHANCE, both of which have found an audience with music lovers around the world. I asked her why she thinks she has been able to strike such a chord with her audience. She says it is her appreciation for what everyone brings to the table. "Everyone plays a position," she says. "Sometimes people don't get that part. How you treat people is so important. You treat them how you want to be treated."

Look for Cassandra to be 'treating' her fans with more music in 2018. Stay connected with her journey on Facebook at www.facebook.com/iamcassandralucasand on Instagram at www.instagram.com/iamcassandralucas.

TWO OUT OF THREE: Double-Teaming R&B

by Cyrus Webb

Success is something that is so much better when you are able to share it. For recording artists Kyle and Cody Mead--twin brothers in a set of triplets--success is something they are enjoying to the fullest. Blessed with the gift of song, the guys have been making their mark not just because what they look like, but because of what they sound like. At a young age they are not just singer/songwriters but are living their dreams as R&B artists following their dreams and seeing results.

I've had the pleasure of talking with the guys on a few occasions, and as I have watched their growth and the attention and buzz around them swell, I can't help but be happy for them and their family. Managed by their father Wayne, the two are excited about all of the great feedback they are receiving about their music not just online but in the shows and events they have been fortunate to participate in.

When I was compiling the second issue of Conversations with Music I knew I had to feature the guys. It wasn't just about what they were doing for themselves, but also because of the example they are setting for so many others when it comes to following a dream.

They talked exclusively with me about the progress they are seeing, their beginnings, drive and why Two Out Of Three is here to stay.

Guys, it's great to be able to speak with you two again. You all have been doing so much, but for those who weren't able to catch our previous conversations, let's go back to the beginning. When did this all begin for you two?
K.M.: We were really young, like nine years old. Both of us have always liked to sing. Around the age of 10 we started entering competitions and were hooked It's really just taken off from there. The response just kept us going, inspiring us to move forward.

Cody, how does it feel to be following your dreams the way that you are?
C.M.: It's really a blessing. I feel like we are blessed, because alot of people don't get the opportunity to do what we are doing. That's why we both are giving it our all. There really is no better feeling in the world.

Kody, we talked on the radio show about your having each other on stage for support. How do you carve out individual time for yourself? It has to be difficult since you are together so much writing and performing.
K.M.: I do write by myself, too. Though we sound good together we are different, so we do work on our own things as well. When it comes to being on stage it's just great to know that we have each other's back.

What do you hope people take away from your music?
C.M.: I want them to feel the love, energy and freedom that we project. This is our way of talking to people and telling them how we feel.
K.M.: I agree with Cody. I love energy, and we want others to know how we feel. Once you hear us you will know that we have our own style. We are not like everyone else. More than anything we want to make them happy.

We talked about success in June when you were on the radio show. You are getting more of a taste of that success right now. Where does it go from here?
K.M.: Our goals include for the world to hear us. I want our music to be available in store everywhere.
C.M.: Yeah, I agree. I just want us to be successful. Music is my life, and I want it to be my livelihood, my way of supporting my family. I also want to continue to help and bless others, too.

Thanks to both of you for allowing me to share with our readers your story. Any advice you have for those reading this conversation and need some encouragement in their own lives?
K. M.: Never give up. Keep pushing. If anyone tries to slow you down, get away from them. What's in your heart is in your mind and that is what you should listen to. Whatever you are trying to accomplish in your own life don't ever stop. Nothing's impossible.
C.M.: That goes for me, too. No matter how you were raised, do what you love to do. Go with your heart. If people inspire you, stay around those people. If you give up now you'll never know what you could accomplish.

Recording Artist Vassy: Embracing All That The Universe Has To Offer

by Cyrus Webb

Recording artist Vassy is one independent artist that is not waiting on the major record companies to give her anything. She's creating music that is being heard around the world not just for her fans online but in major ad campaigns that include Victoria Secrets, Chevy, Nike, Diet Sprite and several televisions shows.  She's not just another pretty face. Originally from Australia but now living in LA, she is proof of what hard work will bring if you don't give up---and she is embracing all that the universe has to offer her.

"I am who I am," she told me in an interview on Conversations LIVE. That has been the mantra that has kept her relevant and focused. "You just have to do you," she says. "People are either going to connect with you or not. Just authentically be yourself and the people who are supposed to be around you will come."

And come they have: lovers of her music have popped up literally around the world. "My fans have been really supported," says Vassy. "They give me a lot of love and encouragement. When you've struggled and things haven't been easy they resonate with that and they admire it. It gives them hope of what they are able to do in their own lives."

Vassy is one of those people who recognized her purpose early in her life, though she admits that didn't make it easier. "I knew from a very young age that I had something to share," she told me. "Even though I knew at a young age it still took me a while to actually do it. It's never too late. As long as you're alive you still have time. I didn't choose this. It chose me."
Her single COULD THIS BE LOVE has become one of my favorite singles of the year, and her new album BEAUTIFUL DAY is available now. When I asked Vassy about what she hopes others will learn from her story and experiences she said this: "I tell people you have to believe in yourself and go for it, having the faith that your hard work will pay off. You're going to have your low days, but if you really want something just put it out there. Write your goals, make your vision board and start making it happen. As soon as you put it out in the universe the wheels are already in motion. Don't worry about making a Plan B. Put all your energy in making Plan A work."
Stay in contact with Vassy on at website www.kissmyvassy.com. Her music is available at your favorite online retailer.

DaShawn Miller: R&B's Prince Asks "Can You Handle It?"

by Cyrus Webb

For 24 year old recording artist DaShawn Miller the success he has experienced so far has been a culmination of hard work and incredible blessings. The Waco, TX native is living his dreams and sharing his love of music with the world in ways that few artists have been able to.

I have interviewed the rising star several times over the past couple of years, and it's easy to see why he is winning over fans of his music all over the country and beyond. He's stays up late using social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to talk with his fans, get their input and promote his latest project. Even at his young age he realizes that with such attention his looks and charm can only get him so far. He has to make sure the music lives up to the hype as well.

When preparing the music edition of Conversations Magazine we knew that it would be incomplete without DaShawn voice within it. In this interview he talks about where he his, what has got him to this point and there is much more to expect in the future.

DaShawn, first of all congratulations on all of your success. When did you first realize music was something that you had a real interest in?
It was early in life, about the age of twelve. My mom played alot of R&B in the house, and I fell in love with it.

Now that you are writing and producing your own music, what does it feel like to be focusing on what you love?
It's a crazy feeling, but it's also a blessing. When you have alot of people all over the place who like your music, that means alot.

How would you describe your particular lyrical style?
My music is more for when you are trying to set the mood right for that special person. If you find yourself loving groups like H-Town, Sillk as well as K Cee and Jo Jo then more than likely you will like DaShawn.

Congratulations on the digital distribution deal with Def Jam for the song "Can You Handle It?" Tell us about the meaning behind the song.
Thank you. The deal with Def Jam is just proof that all of the grinding with this music is paying off. I'm really grateful. As for the song, "Can You Handle It?" is more of a slow, club song. Basically I'm asking the girl if I give you my all can you handle that?

Because of the popularity you are generating, DaShawn, it is inevitable that you will have individuals looking up to you. Is being a role model something that you are comfortable with?
You know, I do want to be seen as a role model. That's why I try to keep my image clean. I want to portray myself in a way that others will look at me and what I"m doing and say they want to be like that person. That's important to me.

When it comes to getting your music out there, how have social networking sites like Twitter, Myspace and Facebook helped you reach a larger audience?
It makes it alot easier for your fans to connect with you, and you can get their feedback. It is also great for networking, linking up with producers and songwriters. For me, it's been a big part of my lifeline to the world.

I mentioned earlier about other individuals including artists looking up to you and what you have accomplished. Do you have an advice for them?
I would tell them that you have to keep doing it everyday. In the music industry there is no such thing as an off day. Even if and when you get the negative feedback, you have to keep going. Believe me, I am living proof that it will all pay off in the end. Repetition is the key to success.

In June 2011 recording artist DaShawn and good friend Bryan McCann of the Dallas Cowboys became the national spokespersons for the Ballin' With Books Literacy Campaign. Ballin' With Books unites sports lovers with books that fit their particular interests.

It was in six grade that DaShawn started getting interested in sports, namely football. His uncle played and was really good at it. I always looked up to him," says DaShawn. "I even wore the same number he wore (45) and played the same position." From football, DaShawn began to show an interest in basketball. When he began to pursue his music, he was able to do so balancing his love of sports.

No matter what he was doing, though, education was something he was going to excel in regardless---and that included reading. DaShawn hopes to use the spotlight that is on him to bring attention to this important topic as well as get others to see that you can be cool and still better yourself.

Look for two new singles and a video to be released by Dashawn in the near future, with details about his album coming soon. You can also find him this summer on the U Rock tour visiting stops in New Orleans, Dallas and Houston.

We at Shadow Play Entertainment and Conversations congratulate DaShawn for following his dreams and encouraging others to do the same. For more information about him and his upcoming projects visit www.reverbnation.com/dashawn.

Nate Fowler: Pursuing His Music THROUGH IT ALL

by Cyrus Webb

Raised in Boise, ID recording artist Nate Fowler took an interest in his father's acoustic guitar and never seemed to give it. As he says on his website "Music has always been something that has intrigued me." That intrigue, hard work and sheer determination has led him to pursue a career as an entertainer and release his new project THROUGH IT ALL.

Pouring out who he is and situations that have occurred around him, Nate has found that his music is not just resonating with those who support his music but with some in the industry as well. He has been awarded prizes and gotten the respect of individuals in the industry over the past couple of years. This has not changed the way he approaches music per se, but it's obvious that he is more sharp in his delivery and exactly what he wants to convey when he is on stage or in the studio.

"I like to make memories," Nate's website reveals about him, "and it seems that there are other people that like to make memories as well." These people come out to see him perform, purchase his music and stay in constant contact with him online. Some would have given up because the stardom they wanted wasn't coming fast enough. This wasn't the mindset of Nate. He knew that he was on this journey for the long haul, and through it all he was going to keep on until he was successful.

According to Nate "failure is simply not trying." So what is his advice to all of us? "I’m passionate. Please be passionate about something with me. They don’t have to be the same passions but we can still be friends." Yes, Nate I think you are right about that.

Pretty Boiiz: Creating Music Without Limits

by Cyrus Webb

It would seem that CT natives Rocky and J-Rez were destined to create music together. The two met while in school together and that meeting led to their forming the group Pretty Boiiz. The result has been that they are creating a sound that people are gravitating to and enjoying and goes beyond any limits that may be put in front of them.

When talking to the two of them it is obvious they are not only excited about the success they are having but enjoying themselves along the journey as well. "People are listening and joining the movement," J-Rez told me during the phone interview. "That is a good feeling, because it is something we have put our hearts into."

They have definitely come a long way since that initial meeting in 2004. Three years after that they had entered a talent competition when in high school, which led to their meeting their manager. I asked them what it was like to be in their early 20s and already doing what they want to do while so many others their ages are still trying to figure it all out. Rocky told me it was a real blessing, and J-Rez added this: "What is really good is that people like us for us. We're staying true to ourselves and living our lives in a positive way."

The name Pretty Boiiz came about when the two were trying to figure out what would fit them and their style the best. In school they had become known as "pretty boys" for their love of fashion and looking good. In the end it seemed like the perfect description of who they were and what they represented.

Describing their sound was easy. They wanted to produce music that was fun, creative and different, and something that people their age and all ages could relate to.

When they were guests on Conversations LIVE Radio in September 2011 they introduced their single "Blue Yankee On". They have released a video for the single that can be found at www.youtube.com/prettyboiiztv.

I asked them what they would say to others who looked at their success and what they have achieved and wanted to know what advice they would offer. They both mirrored the same sentiment: "Never give up on your dream. If you believe in yourself there is nothing you won't be able to do."

Trey Lorenz: Sharing His Passion For Life Through Song

by Cyrus Webb

Many got to know Grammy-Nominated recording artist Trey Lorenz when he sang a cover of the Jackson Five's "I'll Be There" with Superstar Mariah Carey, but that was by no means the beginning for him. In fact his love of music and skills as a performer became apparent as a kid in church growing up in the South. Today people all around the world know of his talent, and he is using the platform available to him to share his passion for life through song.

I had the opportunity to interview Trey on Conversations LIVE in September 2011 just as he was celebrating a string of high notes of the year. Before the discussion on the radio he had already enjoyed the success of two hit songs overseas with DJ Harry Choo Choo and DJ Tony Moran with the #1 UK dance record “Can I Love U More”.

I asked him in the interview what was it like for him to do something that he was so passionate about? "It's really a blessing," he told me "Life is a progression. I feel really fortunate."

The first time Trey performed "I'll Be There" with Mariah Carey for the world was on MTV Unplugged, however, it was the performance in 2009 at the Michael Jackson Memorial that people seemed to really resonate with. For Trey it was in many ways a full-circle experience. "It was one of those surreal moments in life," he relates. As someone who grew up loving Motown and of course Michael Jackson, it was an honor that Trey will never forget.

When asked what advice would he give artists looking to break into the business, his answer is clear: "Do your homework and study your craft. Some artist may have great songs but lack in other areas. Make sure you are studying the greats."

For Trey Lorenz nothing is impossible. His new single "Rescue Me" is available now on Itunes, and he can be found performing across the country and beyond sharing his passion for life and his gift of music. Even as he is reaching higher levels professionally, Trey also has words of wisdom for everyone with a dream. "If you have a passion for something make sure you stay with your first love," he says. "If it's really your passion it will never change."

PROFILE: Sarah McClurg (Canada)

by Cyrus Webb

"I don't know exactly where I'm going yet, but I hope you'll come along for the ride!" That is what Country music sensation and native Canadian Sarah McClurg has to say about her new album TENNESSEE RAIN and her career. In my opinion, I think you should take her advice.

Sarah's voice and passion for her music and conveying it to the public is clear in watching her perform (as you can on her website www.sarahmcclurg.com), and I don't believe she will be stopping any time soon. Best known for her powerful voice and show-stopping performances, Sarah was gifted with an undeniable love for music early in life, and she is glad to be sharing that now with the world.

In 2009 the young lady traveled to Nashville, Tennessee and met with producer Danny White of renowned 16 Ton Studios on famed Music-Row. After collaborating on what was to be just a "single," the two decided a full-album was the only way to go and so ensued "Tennessee Rain", an album of heartfelt, sincere country songs by a seasoned and confident artist.

The title track "Tennessee Rain" can be heard on Sarah's Facebook fanpage and is an up-tempo, vocally driven tune about lovers against all odds "washing away the pain tonight in the Tennessee rain".  "This album is everything I wanted it to be and it's only possible because of this journey I've been on all these years", she says.

Conversations Magazine congratulates Sarah McClurg for the courage she has shown in pursuing her dreams, and the path she has carved out for herself. It's not about trying to be anyone else. She is just being Sarah.
