So many great reminders in this song by Javon Inman. The main thing for me is to realize that no matter how long the journey takes our hard work and perseverance is not forgotten by God. He sees what we do, and He rewards our faithfulness. As Javon admits in this song sometimes we're not ready for what is meant for us. We have to mature and be prepared to receive it.

Great reminder any time of the year for sure. If we do the work God is sure to bless our efforts.

TJ Jackson's OBSESSION shows that guys can be open about their feelings, too

 So many times us guys get a bad rap when it comes to expressing how we really feel about someone we love. That is not the case when it comes to TJ Jackson. In OBSESSION he makes it very clear that the lady in his life is all that he needs.

After expressing that he can't get her off his mind, he goes on to let her know that he's not ashamed to say he is lost when it comes to her. "You are perfection, your walk and your smile," he proclaims. "Nothing else matter 'cause it's just you and I."

Showing that laying it all on the line can be a good thing, TJ Jackson's OBSESSION is all about letting that one you love know how you feel.

The BEST OF YOU is all about loving someone in spite of their flaws

 The first time I heard of this song was on Instagram. I then had to go over and get it for myself. This message is so powerful. Andy Grammer and Elle King are a great match for this message. It's all about loving someone for who they are and what they can be. "The best of me loves the best of you, and all the rest I can see right through." That means we choose to allow love to overcome flaws and focus on the great things about the ones we love.

We don't run because things get tough. We realize that we can be bigger than anything that comes our way. Regardless of the season we can trust in them, and they know they can do the same with us. That is what love is.

Miley Cyrus shines in EDGE OF MIDNIGHT: Tough, Fearless and Free

 I'm not afraid to say that I've been a fan of Miley Cyrus for YEARS, and it's been great to see her style evolve and grow over the year.

In EDGE OF MIDNIGHT we are getting the latest reinvention: a Miley Cyrus that is tough, fearless and free. She's able to go after what she wants unafraid. What I love is when she says that she doesn't need to be loved by us. She doesn't need our permission. She's gotten to a place where she's happy with herself---and that is better than having the approval of others any day.

Love everything about this song, and having Stevie Nicks on it is the icing on the cake.

First UNDERDOG and now GOOD JOB. Alicia Keys is giving us the inspiration soundtrack of 2020

 

As soon as I heard this song I knew it was something I had to add to my playlist. It is really celebrating those that are keeping the world turning on earth right now: those who don't normally get recognized, those who work long hours and don't get remembered. Now, though, we can't help but recognize them, and Keys' GOOD JOB does that in such a big way.

"Don't get too down," she says to them. That is so important as it is not easy to be in a position where people's livelihood and even their lives may depend on you. "Know that you matter," she reminds them. Even when it doesn't seem like it with the long days.

Words matter, and as she says we don't know if they can feel the impact of them, but we appreciate each and every one of them. This song is going to be seen as one of the anthems of 2020 for sure, and Alicia Keys delivers it as only she can.

Alicia Keys' UNDERDOG shows that even if you may go unnoticed never give up on yourself

 

There are so many things to love about this song. The first thing is that it's for us: all of us who have been overlooked, talked down to and who were told that what we wanted couldn't be achieved. It's for all of those who may at times feel invisible. Alicia Keys shows that the important thing is that we never give up on ourselves.

The chorus says it all: "This goes out to the underdog. Keep on keeping at what you love. You'll find that someday soon enough you will rise up."

I think there is also a secondary message in this song that I didn't get at first. Keys says twice "The things that change us when we look up sometimes." This is a not so subtle reminder that sometimes we are so into our own lives and our devices that we miss out on what is right in front of us. May we do our part to encourage others. Who knows: it might be just the word they need to keep going.

Chaz Md's ONLY ONE FOR YOU shows that there are those who want us for us

 ONLY ONE FOR YOU tells the story of that guy who knows that he is the one this lady should be with. Where she finds herself is in a place without love and trust. The song promises to be a place from harm and a shelter she can run to. "Must I admit something, girl," he says. "I'm in love with you. Never would I do hurtful things the way he treats you."

This song is for those who are looking for that one that will love them for them, and for those looking for the words to say to that special someone. ONLY ONE FOR ME Chaz Md's ONLY ONE FOR YOU shows that love can and does exist. We just have to find it.

JUST THE WAY by Parmalee shows that special girl why you can't get enough of her

 If you have ever loved someone who can't see their own beauty and great qualities I think JUST THE WAY by Parmalee and Blanco Brown gives you the words to say. Love how it takes simple things that can be taken for granted and remind that special someone that it is what makes them unique and lovable.

My favorite part is that it keeps saying that God made them special, and that is the best reason of all for them to believe they were created for something special.

This song is all about real love and growth. LAST TIME I SAY SORRY is about actions, not words

 As a fan of both Kane Brown and John Legend I was excited when I saw this song being promoted online. Had to had head over and get it for myself, and boy am I glad that I did.

Us guys need this song. It expresses the feelings we are always good at showing, but what we are actually trying to put into words. Love how it is not about passing the blame. It's about showing that all of us can be better, and if we really want to see things change and get better it goes beyond words. We have to show it.

It all is summed up in this: 'I promise that I'll do the best that I can do.... Can't just say I'm sorry. I gotta show you I won't do it again. I hope the last time I said sorry is the last time I say sorry to you.'

If you want to work on being a better man or woman it all begins with you, and that is what LAST TIME I SAY SORRY is about.

Southern Avenue's KEEP ON pushes you to not give up on yourself or your dreams

 

Having just discovered SOUTHERN AVENUE in 2019 I have found them to not just be an amazing group but one that spreads messages of love and inspiration with every song. The title track KEEP ON is just another example of that.

The message is one that I know everyone can relate to. When things seem their darkest and you think you can't go any further you owe it to yourself to keep on. You can't win unless you're willing to lose. That is a powerful message all by itself. In other words you have to be willing to take a chance and a risk if you want something in life.

Love the way they are able to deliver this message in a way that sticks with you. Definitely the perfect song to make your anthem. Things might be difficult, but we must keep on if we want to win.

Jake Clark's HAPPY is all about finding peace for yourself and the one you say you love

 I just discovered Jake Clark this year, and he is definitely a talent to watch. This single is all about finding happiness for yourself but also wanting that for the one you say you love. And sometimes, that means that happiness is not with you---and you have to be willing to let go.

He talks about the "push and pull" that can come with relationships, and that is not what love is all about. "I want you to know that you're not hurting me if you choose to leave. I want you to know that I just want you to be happy like you used to be."

That definitely takes maturity, and if you can get to that place you are really showing yourself and the one you care about that you truly are thinking of what's best for all involved.

Neoni's IGNITE is that kind of song that will get you motivated for the day ahead

 They had me at "I came to conquer". IGNITE is that song that is so Neoni in it's perfect execution but the messaging is something that seems to be a follow-up to VENGEANCE. Both songs are about moving forward, not being caged in by fear but having the determination you are going to conquer the day.

"I never rest," the song says. "Keep pushing harder.... That's what you get making a legend."

Love the way that this song is not just a proclamation. It's the kind of self-talk we need for ourselves as we're navigating the world. We're putting others on notice: "Watch me ignite."

Amazing things can happen when you choose to move forward even when the odds are against you. IGNITE is that kind of song that will get you motivated for the day ahead.

Trynket's DOWNBEAT is a fun song that reminds us of the power of music

 Music and love definitely go together, and with Trynket's DOWNBEAT we see the two combine in a fun song that will make you want to move. I think we can all agree that there is that music that brings something to life inside you. That is what the song reminds you of---and with the year we've had in 2020 I think having something that makes you remember and feel something good is a welcomed change.

David Hernandez delivers another great song with BOOMERANG

 

I first discovered David Hernandez with his single SORRY. From then I have been following his journey online, so when he released the single and video BOMMERANG I instantly added it to my playlist.

Love the upbeat message of this song, mainly because it's not just about a long interest. It can be about anyone who we were close to that distance might have kept us from. It shows that regardless of what people say we can always come back to each other, like we never left.

You can't help to feel good listening to this. It makes you want to move, makes you smile. It makes you feel good. And I think we can all agree that with the way 2020 has been ANYTHING that does that is worth our time.

Billy Dorsey Jr.'s IN THE RIGHT SEAT shows if we're following our purpose it can't steer us wrong

 Sometimes you might be made to feel out of place or unworthy. That is why messages like IN THE RIGHT SEAT are so important. Billy Dorsey reminds us that purpose is the compass we should be following. It's special. It's God-given. And it's never too late to start going in the direction you're supposed to.

Love that this song unites people, regardless of their age or where they currently find themselves. The main message? "You can find the center as long as you believe," he sings, "and you'll be right where you're supposed to be, in the right seat."

Caleb Lovely has a way of telling a story, and with THE BEST PART he says the things that guys sometime struggle to find the words for. Love that he's able to show that the things that mean the most are things that can't be bought but are experienced. That is especially true when it comes to relationships.

This is the kind of song you can vibe to yourself or have a dance with. Either way it celebrates what matters in life---and there's nothing that can be better than that.

Jonathan Traylor's I TRUST YOU shows us what faith REALLY means and is

 

This song is something ALL of us can relate to in some form or fashion. Jonathan Traylor admits in song what we sometimes feel: we don't know how God is going to show up and give us the answer we want. Though we know He realizes our every need and as Traylor says his promises are "Yes and amen," this can still be difficult.

That is why a song like this is so important. "Even when I don't understand... my life is in your hands," the song says. This statement is important for us to truly walk in. If we are a person of faith that means we will continue to let God lead, not trying to do things in our own power. 

We might not see the full plan or make sense, but He is still in control---and that is all we have to remember.

Troy's UNBREAKABLE shows why we can't allow the world to take our joy

 

Whether you're dealing with self-doubt or people telling you that you won't make it, UNBREAKABLE by Troy is a song you'll love. It's all about when others think you are "losing the fight" how you're able to show them what you're made of.

Love the message of the song. It's all about not taking it or claiming other people's opinions of us. It's about what we believe and what we're willing to do. When knocked down we, like Troy sings about, will get back up and keep going. No matter how long it takes we're going to make it.

"It comes with no warning..."

This song is so timely for where we are today. THE HEAVY reminds us of the challenges that so many are facing, but it also shows how we can lend a "loving hand" to others, making the load easier to carry. "When the storms keep pouring" we can choose to be a beacon for those who feel lost.

Love how the song acknowledges the difficulties of life as well as ways we can offset them. If we are willing to do our part there is really nothing we can overcome together.

Kirra B..'s NEVER GIVE UP shows that in order to win we have to keep going

For those who have thought about throwing in the towel, NEVER GIVE UP by Kirra B. is a reminder that we are too close to where we want to be to give up now.

"You got to be stronger," she reminds us. "You're two steps closer to the finish line." That pep talk should keep you focused, no matter what storm you face. "Keep holding on," she says.

For me the most important thing in the song is this reminder: "What God gave you no one can take it from you... God will get you through." If you keep that in mind you'll remember that in order to win we have to keep going.

After the year many have had in 2020 GOOD TIMES by Art Aure' is much needed

 I think it's an understatement to say that 2020 has been a year, right? A lot going on, so it's great to have something that makes you feel good and want to move. That is exactly what you get with GOOD TIMES by Art Aure'.

Love the energy and vibe of this song. It's all about saying goodbye to all the things that have darkened our day and welcoming the light that the new day brings. "I'm feelin' brand new," Art sings, "so what you gonna do?" That's the ticket for me. We have this day. What are you going to do with it? She encourages us in a fun and reflective way to say goodbye to the things we don't want and hello to the things we do.

GOOD TIMES shows that even though there have been some dark days the sun will shine again.

Columbus Short shows with FALLING APART he can tell powerful stories in songs, too

 We all know Columbus Short from his roles on television and in movies. With FALLING APART he shows that he is able to weave a great story in a song that is also easy to move to.

When it comes to being in situations we know we should be in, this song shows how choices are made that can change everything. Sometimes we are strong enough to resist.  Other times, as Short says in the song, we're FALLING APART, not able to hold it together.

Showing his vocal range and ability to get you lost in the words, FALLING APART is a win for Short and the listener.

A song that reminds us that we are in this thing called life together. Love is the answer

 Stevie Wonder is an artist that is known for his messages of love, and with the new single WHERE IS OUR LOVE SONG he reminds us of its importance. By asking where is the love he shows that we can't get where we want to go or achieve what we want without it. Love is the answer. If we get to a place where we can show love for others it will get it further towards our shared goals.

A song that is timely and speaks to the heart, this reminds us that we are in this thing called life together.

Phillip Michael Parsons' LOVE HATE TOWN reminds us how bittersweet memories can be

 I love this song, and for the first few days it was on repeat on my playlist.

What LOVE HATE TOWN does---and I can relate to it---is show how just how there can be good memories from a person or place there can also be those moments we regret. What Phillip Michael Parsons does is show that especially in a place we call home there will be those bittersweet memories that come back, but that is part of what makes it what it is.

Some of us would not be who we are today if not for the lessons learned from the missteps. That is what LOVE HATE TOWN shows me. Sometimes when it comes to home, family or any relationships the good and bad come together to build who you are.

Joshua Turchin is sharing part of my story in this song. We all have our role in life to play

 

So many times, regardless of our age, we are forced to think there is a certain way to do this or that.

With all that is going on in 2020 we don't have time to stay in situations that are not serving us well.

Toni Braxton gives us the perfect moving on song with DANCE, reminding us that sometimes you have to get to moving in order to clear out what isn't working. For the sake of the song its a man that isn't treating her right. No matter what it might be for you I think you will agree that music has that ability to make you forget your problems and feel better.

This song is all about the things that I believe: we rise together. If you have been blessed to have those who have been in your corner since your journey began you'll appreciate this song. You learn together. You play together. As Alexander sings "Together there is nothing we can't do. "

Love the beat and the message. This is one of those songs that any age can really appreciate.

I found out about this song on Facebook, and I instantly knew it was something I wanted as part of my playlist.

It's a great reminder that in friendships and relationships we have to be so careful how we treat those we say we care about.

Now we can't exactly bring everyone along for the ride, but to do our part to pour into others the way they poured into us is something we can all do in different ways.
