One-On-One with Recording Artist Robert Eberle

by Cyrus Webb

During 2020 I discovered recording artists Robert Eberle, Don Da Menace and Ethan from Versa the Band. They had come together to bring to life the single ENOUGH.

It tackles the times we are living in, not just with the pandemic but what we see when it comes to racial profiling and the shooting of unarmed people of color.

In this One-On-One I talked with Robert about his journey and the music.

Robert,  thanks for the time, and congratulations on the single ENOUGH. Who would you say are some of your musical influences?

Thanks for the opportunity, Cyrus. My musical influences are definitely Ruel & Finneas.

Have you always known that you were interested in creating music?

Yes I started singing when I was two years old. My grandparents got me my first acoustic guitar, and everything kinda played out from there!

What inspired you to be apart of Enough?

What really inspired me to write this song was anger to be honest. I saw everything that had been going on with the Black Lives Matter movement, and it really opened my eyes. I wrote this song and then brought it to my two friends, Ethan & Don. They helped finalize everything, and I think we made a pretty cool song.

With everything going on do you think music is an outlet for you?

Definitely. Music has been an outlet for me my whole life.

How has social media helped you reach people all around the world?

Social media has definitely influenced my career, especially with the app, TikTok. I am able to share my music on there, and it has a chance to reach people all around the world!

Speaking of music, who are you currently listening to?

On my playlist right now I have Ruel, Finneas, Rex Orange County & Bazzi.

What’s some advice to give to people just starting out with music?

Some advice I would give is to just go for it. You never know what’s gonna happen! Don’t give up, and always believe in yourself.

[To You, From Me] Feeling the Blues? Change the Soundtrack of Your Life!

Welcome to Conversations' final Music Issue of 2020, and I think it is coming at just the right time.

With all that is happening in the world right now, it is easy to get a case of the blues. You might be feeling down, discouraged or even defeated. For me one of the things that has always helped when it comes to my mood is music. Instead of listening to things that feed the darkness and pessimism you are feeling, change the soundtrack of your life to something that is hopeful, encouraging and inspires you to keep going in spite of challenges.

That is what I hope this issue of Conversations with Music does for you. We have some amazing profiles that have been done with recording artists from all walks of life around the United States who have been able to use their gifts to not just push themselves but others, too.

Some of the interviews were conducted earlier in the year before the Coronavirus pandemic tightened its grip on the world. The majority, however, have been done during the crisis, which I think should be of comfort to you as you think about your own way forward.

Can music solve all of your problems? No. But it might just give you the shot in the arm you need to know that all is not lost.

This issue features 100 songs and artists that made my 2020. They cover everything from love, inspiration, healing and empowerment.

I have also included my list of 15 songs that will motivate and inspire you from my own Amazon playlist. It is my hope they will be of benefit in your own life as well.

Yes, it is easy to be down and out, but I want to encourage you to flip the switch, change the channel and adjust the soundtrack that you're living by. I guarantee that will give you the push to remember what is possible no matter where you find yourself right now.

Happy reading and listening!

[MUSIC REVIEW] Kane Brown's WORLDWIDE BEAUTIFUL reminds us that love has no color

Kane Brown is a go-to when it comes to great love songs, typically dealing with relationships. WORLDWIDE BEAUTIFUL continues that message of love in a bigger way, reminding us that when you're focusing on black and white you're missing out on all the greatness that this world has to offer.

It sounds simple, but to remind people that we're all the same is something that is powerful in this song. Looking past color and location, we are all people. Kane Brown says that when he sees his people they're not the same but they are all equal, meaning that regardless of how they look they are just people.

A great song with a message that should unite us, WORLDWIDE BEAUTIFUL reminds us that love has no color.

[MUSIC REVIEW] With MINE Madelyn Mandry shares the feelings and fears of many when they find love

You can listen to MIDNIGHT TO MORNING by Madelyn Mandry on repeat throughout the day, being swept into the stories she shares from song to song---and the emotions in each one. MINE, however, is the song that seems to get me the most.

The message is one that I have felt, and I know others have as well. It's all about being with someone that you want and wondering if they are all with you or still thinking about the one they had before. It's about appreciating what you bring to the table, but wondering if they see it.

"Do you wish you could go back in time to when she called you mine," is the line you'll find lingers with you.

And to be honest maybe we have been the one who finds ourselves trying to enjoy what we have now and the one we loved before.

Either way it's a song that is relatable and shares the feelings and fears of many when they find love.

[MUSIC REVIEW] WE ARE US reminds us of the unity we as human beings should feel towards one another

It is so easy to want to paint people into boxes, dividing us by race, class and location. In the world we live in today we are reminded by situations that we are all in this thing called life together. That is the message of Savannah's WE ARE US. As soon as I heard the single I had to come over and get it for myself.

In a world that is about division this song reminds us what we as human beings should feel towards one another: Love. We are us. We are one. When we start acting like it we'll see things change.

[MUSIC REVIEW] A nice feel-good song that reminds us what life can be like when we feel NEW AGAIN

A lot has been going on in the world that can make us feel down. The Como Brothers have given us a cool new song and even cooler visual with it that reminds us that where we are doesn't have to be the end. NEW AGAIN is all about finding that happy place again, with yourself and those that you love.

I love that it has an upbeat message and rhythm that makes you smile. Yes it can be applied to what 2020 has been like for so many of us, but it is also about just getting back to our happy place.

Cool song to lighten things us a bit and give us something to look forward to. NEW AGAIN is that nice feel-good song that reminds us what like can be like again if we choose it.

[MUSIC REVIEW] Chris Anthony's GET AWAY shows that sometimes to do something special you just need that special one

These days getting away in the literal sense isn't happening for a lot of us, but with Chris Anthony's single GET AWAY we're able to see that that special time with that special someone can be enjoyed anywhere.

Love how the tune just makes it about the other person, doing things they will enjoy and that you can enjoy together. A get away in this sense can be just as fun, because you're letting them know that all you need is them.

If you're looking for a fun song that has that message you can sing along with and enjoy this would be it. It's all about putting your special someone front and center---and you can't go wrong with that.
